Hyrax in orthodontic office for dental nurses and oral hygienists
However hyrax therapy is indicated by orthodontist, the orthodontic´s staff has to have the knowledge about indication spectre of this appliance. Lecture explains to dental assistants and oral hygienists how to use this knowledge in everyday patient´s care from introduction to a hyrax therapy, guide in application of the appliance, its hygiene, instruction of the patient in feeding restricts, urgent situations and complications, check-up planning, till appliance removal. Patient´s therapy goes on even after hyrax removal and must not be interrupted. The orthodontic staff manages the patient up to full utilisation of hyrax benefits in ortodontic treatment protocol and plan.
The goal of the lecture is to teach audience to come up to doctors expectations and to find their own role in a treatment process to be able to establish the professional team. Lecture offers answers to a patient´s or its parent´s questions, which the they find too professional in a doctor´s expalanation or not clear enough.
